Pharma Lab
"Stratos, lord of the horde, feasts upon the laboratory's grotesque flora. But they can only sate his hunger for so long..." -Pre-mission flavor text

IntroEdit

The Pharma Lab [known as Pharmacology Lab in Japan] is the stage for one of the missions in Azure Striker Gunvolt, codenamed "Garden". This secret laboratory is where Sumeragi creates S.E.E.D., a drug that has applications as a means to control Septima. Gunvolt's objective here is to destroy the flower that is the source of S.E.E.D.

Briefing Edit

Moniqa: Your target is a flower specimen in Sumeragi's pharmaceutical lab

Gunvolt: You want me to kill a flower? That's a new one.

Moniqa: The problem is the drug they produce from it. Ever heard of S.E.E.D.? It's a psychotropic medication used to control things like anxiety. In strong doses, it induces temporary septimal highs and leads to dependence.

Gunvolt: So whoever controls the drug...

Moniqa: Gains leverage over a small army of overpowered, wastoid adepts.

Gunvolt: Wow...bad flower. Okay, I'll make sure it's destroyed.

Stage compositionEdit

There are a few gimmicks to this stage;

  • Viny platforms act as footholds in various parts. They are extremely vulnerable to electricity, and crumble upon contact by Flashfield
  • This stage is a breeding ground for some of Sumeragi's...greener experiments. As such, the enemies Tentacle, Spider Flower, and Eidolon Flower make an exclusive appearance here.
  • During the second half of the stage, Stratos will periodically flood the level with ravenous insects. The good news is that they don't discriminate and can destroy enemies. The bad news is that they also enjoy a tasty helping of Gunvolt. The insects can be repelled using Flashfield.
